This September, Beijing hosts CIFTIS — China’s flagship fair for trade in services. For diaspora professionals, it is a rare chance to do business with China beyond goods.

When the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) opens at Beijing’s Shougang Park on 9 September 2026, it will once again turn the Chinese capital into a global marketplace — not for containers and consumer goods, but for services.
Co-hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce and the Beijing Municipal Government, CIFTIS spans twelve sectors, from finance, education and tourism to telecoms, digital trade and artificial intelligence. It draws Fortune 500 companies and delegations from around the world across five days, with the first three reserved for professional visitors and the final two open to the public.
For diaspora entrepreneurs, that focus on services matters. While fairs like the Canton Fair are about sourcing products, CIFTIS is where consultancies, ed-tech, creative industries, healthcare providers and digital businesses can find partners, clients and investment — opportunities that are often harder to access from abroad.
It is also a two-way street. Diaspora-owned firms can use the platform not only to learn from Chinese counterparts, but to present their own services and investment propositions to one of the world’s largest markets.
DCTV’s Diaspora Business Desk will be following CIFTIS 2026 closely — the forums, the deals and the people turning Beijing’s services boom into real opportunity for our communities. If you are planning to attend or exhibit, we would love to tell your story.
